Who is eligible for CDCP?

Residents who do not have access to private dental insurance and have an adjusted family net income under $90,000.

How much does CDCP pay?

  • Coverage is based on your adjusted family net income and is paid according to CDCP’s approved fee guide

  • Denture repairs

  • Relines and rebases

  • Adjustments and fittings

Note: Implant-supported dentures and dental implants are not covered under CDCP.

Some denture services — especially new dentures or replacements — may require preauthorization from CDCP. We can help you with this process.

There are also frequency limits, meaning dentures are usually covered once every several years unless there is a medical reason for earlier replacement.

Provincial Program – The Alberta Adult Health Benefit (AAHB)

The AAHB (also known as Alberta Works) is a provincial program designed for adults who do not have access to employer or private health benefits and need help covering basic healthcare costs.

who is eligible for AAHB?

  • Supplemental Coverage typically covers the majority of the cost of basic dentures based on the government’s specific fee schedule.

  • How to pay $0: Look for a denturist who agree to take the government fee schedule amount and “forgive” the rest of their usual fee so you don’t have to pay anything.

FAQs

As a 100% Provider, we match our prices to the official government fee schedules. This means we accept the coverage amounts set by provincial and federal programs as payment in full for your treatment.

Many clinics charge more than what the government provides, leaving you to pay the “gap” out of pocket. Because we align our rates with the government’s coverage, we can eliminate these extra costs—ensuring that if your program covers 100% of the fee, you pay nothing.

Absolutely. We can quickly help you determine if you have active coverage or if you need to submit a new application. If you’re unsure where you stand with provincial programs or the CDCP, we encourage you to call us—we can often verify your status over the phone or during your first visit to ensure you get every dollar of funding available to you.

Yes, we have extensive experience helping patients successfully apply for provincial and federal funding. There is almost always a program available to help lower your costs, and we are happy to guide you through the paperwork for the Alberta Seniors Benefit, Adult Health Benefit, or the CDCP. Contact us for a coverage consultation, and we will support you every step of the way to ensure you receive your full benefits.

No, you don’t need your coverage finalized to get started. We encourage you to book a consultation right away so we can assess your needs and prepare your treatment plan while simultaneously helping you apply for provincial or federal (CDCP) programs. By the time your dentures are ready, we’ll work to ensure your benefits are active and ready for direct billing.

Direct billing means we submit your claims directly to your insurance provider (including provincial programs and the CDCP) so they pay us instead of you. This is better for you because it eliminates large upfront costs and saves you the hassle of filing complex paperwork. You only pay the remaining balance not covered by your plan, making your denture care more affordable and stress-free.

We offer direct billing for all major insurance providers and government programs. This includes Alberta Blue Cross, Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, and GreenShield, as well as the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) and Alberta’s provincial senior and low-income programs. If you have coverage, we will work with your provider to handle the paperwork and minimize your out-of-pocket costs.
